Girl, Here’s the Ultimate Glow-Up Guide. You’ve booked your Raleigh boudoir session, so let’s dive into the ultimate prep list to get you camera-ready and feeling fierce.

Exfoliate & Moisturize — Get That Smooth Glow

First up: exfoliation is your BFF. Gently scrub your skin a day or two before your shoot to get rid of dead skin and leave your skin super soft. Follow up with a rich moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated, glowing, and photo-ready. Smooth skin equals that flawless, makeup application!

Nails on Point — Fresh & Fabulous

Next, don’t forget about your nails! Whether you want sleek, neutral polish or fun, bold colors, make sure your nails are clean, trimmed, and looking polished. A fresh mani-pedi (or even a quick buff and shine) will give your hands that extra glow in close-up shots.

Sweet & Clean Hair — No Fuss, Just Fresh

Keep your hair fresh and clean the day of your shoot. This helps my artists be able to transition your hair easily into your preferred style. NO DIRTY HAIR. The myth of ‘Dirty hair curls best’ Is very very untrue. Freshly washed, fully dry hair is expected upon arrival.

Watch What You Eat & Drink — No Bloat, Just Radiance

A few days before your shoot, avoid foods and beverages that tend to make you bloat — like salty snacks, carbonated drinks, or heavy carbs. Instead, go for fresh veggies, lean proteins, and lots of water. Staying hydrated keeps your skin plump and glowing, and helps you feel your best.

Wax, Shave, or Not? — Your Personal Choice

As for waxing or shaving, that’s totally up to you! Some prefer to do it right before the shoot, others do it a few days earlier. Just don’t try waxing or trying something new less than 2 weeks before — you don’t want any surprises or skin reactions on shoot day. Do what makes you comfortable and confident!

Relax & Self-Care — Calm Your Vibes

Relax is key. Take a warm bath with your fave soothing bath salts or oil, and do some light stretching or meditation to calm nerves. When you feel good inside, it shows outside. Plus, a good night’s sleep the night before will make your skin look more radiant and your eyes brighter.

Quick Tip: Avoid Trying New Products

Stick to what makes your skin and hair feel good. Avoid experimenting with new skincare or hair products right before your shoot — no surprises or reactions you don’t want to deal with on shoot day.
